All On 4 dental implants in Cheltenham is a type of treatment that provides implant-supported dentures. This denture is firmly attached to two or more implants in your jawbone, creating completed secure dentures, giving you both comfort and peace of mind.

You will only require between 2-4 implants to provide a firm enough base to support a full denture. This denture will then be carefully attached to the implants using a retainer system which consists of 2 components; the first being permanently attached to the implant, the other being attached to the denture. These components click together to ensure your denture fits securely in place at all times.

all on 4 consultation

During your initial appointment for all on 4 dental implants we begin by carrying out a thorough assessment of your mouth, gums and teeth. This allows us to accurately plan your implant treatment.

We do this by taking digital x-rays and studying models (plaster casts) of your jaw. We use computer tomography scans (CT scans) to assess the bone and determine the correct position of the single implant.

It is crucial that you have sufficient bone to support the implant. However, if you do not have enough bone, you may still have dental implants. It is possible for us to safely and effectively correct your bone deficiency with techniques such as bone grafting and sinus lifts.

Placing The Implants

At the following appointment we carefully place your implant. This will take around 30 minutes. You will be given a local anaesthetic to ensure you do not feel any discomfort during the treatment. However, if you are anxious about your treatment, it is an option to be treated under sedation. We then open the gum, drill a small hole into the jaw bone and place the implant into the opening.

Healing Phase

The gum will heal very quickly after the placing of all on 4 dental implants. After only a few days it is important that we see you again to ensure that the healing is going well.

Your implant will usually be left to heal over a period of three to six months during which time it becomes an integral part of your jaw bone. To ensure we get the best results we do not normally fit the permanent crown on the implant during this time. It is only once we feel that your bone situation is at its best that the crown will be placed on the same day.

Placing The Bridge

Once the implant is fully healed, we can then take a mould of your tooth so that your final implant crown can be custom made.

After the crown has been created it can be fixed to the implant. We ensure that the new crown will be indistinguishable from your natural teeth, so that no difference will be noticed.

Frequently Asked Questions

All-on-4 dental implants are a revolutionary solution for replacing a full arch of teeth using just four strategically placed implants per jaw. This procedure offers a stable and fixed prosthetic bridge, restoring both function and aesthetics.

All-on-4 implants provide a more permanent solution compared to traditional dentures. Dentures rest on the gums and can often lead to discomfort and reduced chewing efficiency. All-on-4 implants are surgically anchored to the jawbone, offering improved stability, comfort, and natural function.

The All-on-4 procedure involves a comprehensive dental examination, digital imaging, and treatment planning. During the procedure, four implants are strategically placed in the jawbone, followed by the attachment of a customized prosthetic bridge. This minimally invasive approach reduces recovery time and delivers rapid results.

While All-on-4 implants are a great solution for many individuals, suitability depends on factors like bone density, overall oral health, and medical history. A thorough consultation with a dental professional is necessary to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for the procedure.

All-on-4 implants offer numerous benefits, including improved chewing function, enhanced speech, increased self-confidence, and a natural-looking smile. The implants also stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss and maintaining facial structure.

Caring for All-on-4 implants is similar to caring for natural teeth. Regular brushing, flossing, and routine dental check-ups are essential. Your dentist will provide specific guidelines for cleaning the prosthetic bridge and maintaining optimal oral hygiene to ensure the longevity of your implants.
